I enjoy purchasing multiple items on deep clearance and thinking of how to create a different “look” for them. The horizontal pieces previously had Thanksgiving themes painted on white backgrounds and the hanging squares had simple “Hello”, etc. sayings.  The examples all needed a coat of primer, two coats of acrylic paint to create the faux wood effect before painting the actual designs.  At the bottom of this page are pictures of the paint I used and how some of the pictures looked before completion.  I used inexpensive acrylics from Walmart.
